The LightCatcher can be installed everywhere, on flat or slanting roofs anywhere in the world. Our system is suitable for industrial buildings, warehouses, factories, hangars, shops, showrooms, schools, government buildings, restaurants, offices, covered gymnasiums, fitness clubs, private homes, covered markets, storage depots, distribution centres and stables. Ample possibilities!

One LightCatcher illuminates 60 to more than 120 square metres. We can draw up a precise calculation of your needs after you submit a few details. Please contact us or, alternatively, use our easy calculation gauge located in the brochure: you enter your desired luminosity, the size of your roof and your ceiling height and we will tell you how many LightCatchers you need.

Strict quality monitoring is a way of life for EcoNation. Our LightCatcher comes with all required certificates among which CE and fire resistance. But most importantly, our LightCatcher comes with the independent confirmation of Best Available Technology. No other daylight system in the market matches the criteria.

In addition, we offer our customers a 10-year limited warranty. That’s right, ten years. The cost recovery period of the LightCatcher is between two and four years depending on your country, your needs and your desires, but we offer you a much longer warranty period. You only have to follow our instruction manual and the installation and maintenance guidelines listed in it and we guarantee at least ten years of carefree free light and “green” profit.

An average skylight becomes dirty more quickly than our LightCatcher. Thanks to its specific design, the LightCatcher is self-cleaning: dirt doesn’t stick, it glides right off. The maintenance guidelines are minimal. If you want to clean it manually, all you need is water and a soft sponge. We recommend preventive inspection of your roof once a year for irregularities, namely an accumulation of leaves or moss. For performance monitoring of the moving parts, a wireless monitoring tool is available (optionally).

The LightCatcher consists of different layers of polycarbonate. That material is very strong, almost unbreakable, resilient, fireproof, very shock-resistant and impact-resistant. The precise technical specifications are found in this dossier. The LightCatcher tolerates rough treatment and stormy weather without a care. The precise technical specifications are here.

It would be a real chore to break in via our LightCatcher. Not only are there several layers (each is sealed separately and all are made of high-quality and impact-resistant polycarbonate), our systems come with special anti-burglar screws: once installed, the skylight cannot be opened.

The LightCatcher is a beautiful, intense source of abundant natural light, but it will never blind you. Two specially developed lenses provide diffuse light and optimal diffusion. You can look at the incoming light all day long without damaging your eyes, whether you are in a factory or a sports centre. You are not blinded and you don’t hear a drop of rain: our LightCatcher has perfect acoustic insulation.

Luckily, it’s not our claim to make. Independent researchers and government agencies claim that our system is the Best Available on the market. The most efficient daylight system, that is. We try to make a difference in terms of service, quality and technology. Our LightCatcher is intelligent in all of its meanings: in the way it searches for the most optimal light spot, the way it enters the light, the way it switches on/off your light fittings, in monitoring its energy savings, in its self-correcting capacities. All of this comes with awards and proven efficiency, and is protected by multiple patents.

Our products are made from durable, high-quality materials. They don’t breakdown easily. The expected life span is about 20 years. The best news is: if you follow our guidelines, we offer a 10-year limited warranty, while the average payback period of our system is less than four years.

None! Our LightCatcher is not connected to the traditional electricity grid. It operates completely autonomously. A small solar panel built into the outer dome provides enough energy for the control system and the motor. Daylight does the rest.

On top of that, we save more than any other daylight application, because the LightCatcher controls your light fittings directly. Forget about the light fittings being switched on all day long!

Solar panels do require extra measures on a flat roof, but the LightCatcher does not. The LightCatcher can be installed on slanting roofs, but prefer a flat roof: that’s where they are easiest to install, contrary to solar panels. In most cases, only little fortification is needed. So contrary to solar panels: the LightCatcher is easy to install and isn’t too heavy for your roof. A flat roof is our LightCatcher’s dream. But don’t worry, with an adjusted curb or light shaft we can quickly provide the ideal solution for your slanting roof.

If you are a bit handy, the LightCatcher can be installed quickly, especially if you follow our user-friendly installation guidelines. We guide you through the installation with step-by-step instructions that include drawings. Therefore, you can install the LightCatcher yourself or use the services of a tradesman that you know. But why put in the effort when it can be even easier? At EcoNation we have our own in-house specialists. They have lots of experience in installing the LightCatcher and are always available. Give us a sign and our installers will come around.

Contrary to traditional skylights, the LightCatcher doesn’t cause temperature differences thanks to two stagnate layers of air. Our specific three-layer structure ensures this. Under the polycarbonate dome lies a polycarbonate lens, which pushes the incoming light through a light shaft, while creating a stagnate layer of air in the dome. The light shaft is closed on the bottom by a second polycarbonate lens, this time with a flat or pyramidal shape to spread the compressed light throughout the building optimally, once again creating a  stagnate layer of air. The LightCatcher provides optimal thermal insulation: no extra heating expenses in the winter, no expensive heat that escapes, and in the summer no sweltering heat that sneaks in and no extra air conditioning costs. Its U-value is 1,2 on a very limited surface.

The LightCatcher follows the rhythm of the sun. From sunrise to sunset it does what it is meant to do: illuminate your building. The LightCatcher’s strength is its ability to catch daylight, even when the sun is hidden behind a thick layer of clouds. After all, the sun isn’t the direct source for our system. The LightCatcher needs daylight, not sunrays. The system works on cloudy and rainy days too.

If you have a traditional skylight, you undoubtedly know the problem. Condensation occurs frequently. During humid periods with large temperature differences between the interior and exterior, moisture accumulates easily and that causes mildew. Condensation is a natural phenomenon and polycarbonate is a porous plastic, yet the LightCatcher protects itself. An integrated dehumidifier catches it maximally. It prevents any possible condensation from entering the light shaft or the building.

Yes it is! Not only does it provide a substantial reduction in your energy costs, daylight has several pleasant effects. Scientists all over the world agree: people function better in natural light than in artificial light. That’s why more and more governments are laying down standards to ensure sufficient incoming daylight in workplaces. Students pay better attention and achieve higher scores, it is healthier for the body (hospitals report a quicker recovery process when patients are exposed to natural daylight), and several academic studies have shown that it results in economic returns: productivity increases, employees are ill less often and studies show that daylight encourages customers to buy more goods. A complete colour spectrum, relaxing for the eyes, close to human nature: the link between daylight and health is essential.

The LightCatcher satisfies strict, European quality standards. The material used belongs to class B1 according to DIN 4102. In plain English that means the material is by and large incombustible thanks to the superior quality of our polycarbonate. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you need copies of certificates (available according to EN13501-1, BS476 and DIN4102 standards).

Investing in sustainable, green energy solutions is investing in the future. Choosing solar panels is a good choice, and installing a wind turbine in your back garden would also be smart. But you can do better. Solar panels and the LightCatcher are two different ideas, totally different technologies too, but the basic principle is the same: they are green technologies that guarantee lower electricity costs. An objective comparative test rated our LightCatcher the best possible investment on the “green” market. Why does the LightCatcher score better than solar panels? Because your investment is recovered three times faster, maintenance costs are much lower, and the return is considerably higher. The entire test is in this dossier. Finally, your architect will be glad to hear that the roof load of our skylights is many times lower than that of solar panels. The compiled weight of numerous LightCatchers doesn’t come near that of a roof covered with solar panels. Easy to install, limited weight, high return, faster recovery of your investment: that’s why our LightCatcher is more interesting than solar panels. What is more, subsidies and government assistance for solar panels are decreasing every year, while they are increasing for our skylights.

Of course! The LightCatcher isn’t only for new-construction projects. It can be integrated in the renovation or upgrade of existing buildings. Half of our installations are for renovated buildings, in the context of increased energy awareness. Government agencies very often reward these investments with incentives or subsidies.

The LightCatcher is suitable for all circumstances and almost every roofing material. It can be installed quickly, fits in easily and almost everywhere.

Most certainly. The LightCatcher operates CO2-neutrally and ensures that you save an average of 3650 hours annually for all your light fittings. Even for small companies that quickly results in many thousands of kWh saved annually, and less electricity consumption means fewer CO2-emissions. How much less CO2 you emit depends on your floor space, but per 1000m² that can easily range from a 10-ton to more than 30-ton annual reduction.
